Accreditation

In 2014 Silesian Centre for Heart Diseases received the Ministry of Health Accreditation through the Healthcare Quality Monitoring Centre. Accreditation is an external assessment process which proves that our hospital meets the quality and safety standards of the provided healthcare services.

Why accredited hospital is a better choice?

The Accrediting Committee assessment is preceded by the series of trainings for the hospital staff, which presents the accreditation standards relating not only to the patients’ treatment process but also the supporting processes proper conduct of which has direct impact on the safety and comfort of the patient, i.e. the maintenance of the medical equipment and facilities, medical record or respect for patients’ rights.

Accreditation is an invaluable tool which works all over the world in on a similar basis and which explicitly translates to the improvement of the quality of patient’s care in hospitals. It comprises the fundamental rules for ethical care for patient and their family which minimizes the risk in the process of diagnostics and treatment. The implementation of new rules of functioning extorts the positive development of attitude and performance of the hospital staff and provides certainty that the personnel is working in accordance with the highest international standards. In short, the accreditation targets the hospitals activity on the healthcare quality improvement in line with the expectations of the society.

In 2017 an accreditation maintenance visit was conducted in our hospital, which proved that our Silesian Centre for Heart Diseases provides high quality healthcare services and meets the accreditation standards in 94%.
