Since its doors opened in 1984, Silesian Center for Heart Diseases has been providing world-class care to its pediatric patients. Our Department of Congenital Heart Diseases and Pediatric Cardiology has an outstanding reputation for successfully handling the most complex cases of heart diseases in neonates and children.

 

For some instances of congenital heart diseases, our specialist recommend the most safe and effective drug therapy. If intervention in required, our skilled pediatric cardiologists perform cardiac catheterization. Our Center takes pride in effective non-surgical treatment of heart diseases in newborns and children, including  balloon valvulotomy of aortic and pulmonary stenosis, ballon angioplasty in arterial and vascular stenosis, post-surgical stenosis, aortic coarctations and recoartcation.

Over the years Silesian Center’s highly trained and internationally renowned cardiologists have developed and perfected percutaneous treatment of congenital heart diseases: atrial and ventricular septal defects (transcatheter closure using Amplatzer Septal Occluder and STARflex device), post-infarction ventricular septal defects, patent ductus arteriosus (transcatheter closure using Amplatzer Duct Occluder, coil) and others.
